BINGE

2024

This performance video, recorded during a binge eating episode, reveals the cycle created by loss of control and obsessive repetition. The distant and cold gaze of the CCTV camera transforms the moment into both a scene of surveillance and a closed-loop confrontation with the self.

As the private becomes publicly exposed, the viewer witnesses that eating disorders are not merely physical acts, but deeply mental confinements. “Ta(I)kıntı” highlights the tension between “bingeing” and “obsession,” carrying traces of the ongoing struggle between the individual, their body, and their impulses.
